The session output and input devices do not get initialized on new sessions

mic, 2016 06 12: When the user creates a new session, Orinj should select the first available output device and the first available input device for each track. Right now, Orinj is left with those selected in the previous session.

mic, 2016 06 13: This was fixed with version 2.5.7 of Orinj. The fix was uploaded to this site on June 13, 2016.
