Forums:

the subject says it all.
It does not give an error message but it does not show the tracks either.

I can re-open the old kal file in v2.6.3

Thanks for sending the recording session.

I can see a few issues:

  1. Like you said, it won't open the session. This will happen in any version 2 session that has effects (in this case, the echo and reverb on the bass track). This is fixed in version 4.0.4.
  2. The right-click popup menus are not working. This is an issue in Ubuntu and MacOS. The menus work on Windows. This is fixed in version 4.0.4.
  3. There are sound pops when you play the bass track. This is not a problem with Orinj per se. It happens because the original bass wave was cut and audio will always pop when it is cut off before it reaches zero. Problem or not, we should figure out a way to deal with it. One way is to use the volume envelopes on tracks and lower the volume around the place of the cut. But that could be too much work. I'll think about this one and figure out a way to eliminate the pops in future versions.

Version 4.0.4 is ready and will be out either today or tomorrow – with the fixes above and with some other changes and bug fixes.

In version 4.0.6, we added an option to fade in the beginning of waves and to fade out the ends of waves. That will eliminate the clicks and pops at the end of cut waves in sessions and so all of the issues I listed before are fixed. The fade option is under the Block menu of the session.
